Catholic kiss the feet of the statue of Jesus Christ during a veneration of the cross ceremony at the Church of St Francis Xavier in Petaling Jaya. Christians in Malaysia celebrated Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, yesterday. Churches were packed as the faithful attended services for the second day of the Easter Triduum, which began the day before with Holy, or Maundy, Thursday. Christians believe Christ was sent to die on the cross to atone for the sins of mankind. The triduum culminates in the celebration of Easter on Sunday — the resurrection of Christ and his victory over death.
